Dear Friends, Supporters, and Rugby Fans,
Things have certainly got interesting since our last home game where shared points was probably the best the pitch would allow on the day. With a further postponement of the Doncaster Phoenix, now scheduled for a blockbuster Good Friday afternoon, and a very disappointing performance in Blaydon, the league remains ours to lose.
We welcome Alnwick today who demonstrated they are very tough competitors when we visited them earlier in the season and despite all the best efforts of our ground staff the pitch will still play a part in today’s match.
It is also with much excitement that we welcome Dragos (Dee) Avram into the HRUFC family as our new full time General Manager. Building on the fantastic work delivered by our President, Jo Finnegan, in steading the clubhouse post Covid. The time is now right to really invest in unlocking the potential
our facility has and driving the commercial revenue needed to invest back into the whole club, but not least the pitches!
I am also proud to see our Under 16s continuing their successful Yorkshire Cup run into the final tomorrow at Wetherby RUFC. This is a group of coaches and boys that have been together since tag and bulldogs, testament that our “Rugby for All” mission delivers results on and off the field!
Yours in Rugby,
Mark Garrett
Chairman, Harrogate RUFC
This Sunday the Harrogate Under 16 Yorkshire Cup Squad travel over to Wetherby for their clash against Sheffield Under 16’s.
Kicking off at 11am, get yourself down to Wetherby RUFC to support the lads in their effort to win back2back Yorkshire Cups.
We measure success for our juniors in lots of ways and it is great to see the inclusive, “rugby for all” approach brings home silverware alongside hundreds of happy and healthy rugby players!
