No love lost today!
Good afternoon, and welcome to Harrogate Rugby Club for this Regional 1 North East home game against Heath RUFC.
There is no doubt that the standards and competitiveness in this league have moved on significantly since we last visited in 2023/24. This is clear in the quality of the opposition Heath will present us today, as by far the best team we have faced and well deserving of their unbeaten position at the top of the tree.
But the game we played at their place was a tight one, and with both teams moving forward since that meeting, I am confident today’s match will be a blinder.
What is totally different to last time we played them is the quality of the pitch. The investment made, and the hard work from the ground team, have saved the season for the senior end of the club.
I wish I could say the same for our juniors who have been on the receiving end of the relentless rain since the start of the year.
We are working hard on a number of projects to address this both in the short and long term. I hope to be able to share more information shortly,y but rest assured, the delivery of our mission, “rugby for all”, is never far from my mind as we tackle the day-to-day challenges the weather brings.
