Good afternoon, and welcome to Harrogate Rugby Club for this Regional 1 North East home game against Cleckheaton RUFC.
So here we go for our first home game of 2026, I know it will be a good one for our club and its members both on and off the field!
Today’s opponent, Cleckheaton, may be currently bottom of the league, but with the Christmas and weather disruption out of the way, plus the inevitable response following our win at their place, I am confident they will provide formidable competition for the Aces today.
As we enter this period of the season, with the weather doing everything to stop rugby from happening on either Saturday or Sunday, we need your support more than ever. This is when you can make the biggest difference on the sidelines.
Whether it is supporting our mini players through the cold and wet training sessions, cheering on our juniors and Colts as they enter the business end of their cup competitions or turning out for our senior men’s and women’s teams and making your presence felt, now is the time your club needs you more than ever.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate Conor Miller on his 50th Cap for Harrogate First XV last week at Alnwick. I have known Conor since his junior years, and he and his family are everything we represent as a club. Well done, Conor, now it’s time to double it!
