Dear Friends, Supporters, and Rugby Fans,
A warm welcome to each and every one of you for this regional 1 North fixture between Harrogate and Scunthorpe Rugby Club.
I can’t tell you how pleased I am to finally be writing a Chairman’s welcome that will actually get read as the weather is clearly not a rugby fan so far this year! With two home fixtures cancelled, on top of the third we lost in early December the impact to the club is significant. I am sure the Scunthorpe players come ready to put on a performance and their supporters are thirsty!
It is also worth noting the amount of work that goes into getting a game on at the club from both the grounds and clubhouse staff.
It hasn’t been all quiet at Rudding this year though as our junior sides contiune to brave the wet and the cold to progress in cup and league competitions. We have also seen plenty of representative rugby from Harrogate players across the Academy League, Super BUCS, North of England and County!
All this is a reminder of our mission “Rugby for All” and I an forever grateful for all the work that goes into delivering this across all areas of the club.
