Dear Friends, Supporters, and Rugby Fans,
A warm welcome to each and every one of you for this regional 1 North fixture between Harrogate and our neighbours, Ilkley Rugby Club.
It is down to luck or good planning from the league administrators that we are gifted with this premium fixture so close to Christmas. It has certainly helped with lunch time bookings as we welcome parents and players from the U16s, U14s, U9s, along with a group close to my heart who built lifelong friendships watching our boys play at the club since the ages of 5. The question is who can drink more from that group the lads or the dads!
As a team we have seen a few bumps in the road (on the road) over the past few weeks with losses away to York and last week at Heath. Nobody said this league was going to be easy and I am sure Ilkley will bring a commited performance today, hoping to see us cry into our Quality Streets this Christmas.
This time of year leads me to thank you all for supporting the club in 2023. Having completed our mission, vision, and values process over the summer and into the season it now only leaves the hard part of putting that vision into action while keeping the club running. But these challenges are there for us in 2024 when I am confident between us all we will deliver on our commitment of…Rugby for All!
